Vegan whipped coconut cream

The trick to a quality whipped cream is starting with the right base: coconut cream. Not coconut milk, or a coconut milk beverage, but thick coconut cream. Not all stores carry coconut cream, but most Trader Joe’s will have it. If you can’t find coconut cream at your local grocery store, then you can order it on Amazon.


1 can coconut cream
1/4 c powdered sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla


1. Open your can of coconut cream, and let it sit uncovered for at least an hour to separate.

2. Carefully scoop out just the thick, white cream. The bottom third of the can will be a thin clear liquid, which you do not want! This liquid will not whip into cream.

3. Whip the cream with a whisk or a hand mixer. After about a minute of whisking, add vanilla and powdered sugar.

4. Continue whisking until you have soft peaks.
