Fried plantain chips

Fried plantains are an easy, gluten-free snack that I like to make every now and then. Since you fry the plantains in oil, it isn’t exactly a healthy snack, but everything in moderation right? I like eating fried plantains on their own, or serving them with a homemade fruit salsa.

Canola oil

1. Peel and slice your plantain into thin chips.

2. Gently fry chips in hot canola oil for about 45 seconds. Remove, then let dry on paper towels.

3. Refry plantain chips for an extra crispy crunch, only this time don’t let them stay in the oil longer than 30 seconds.

4. Dust with a bit of salt, and let cool completely before enjoying.
